Engaging eLearning Reflection
At the beginning of those course I was not completely sure what to expect. The idea of eLearning can be taken in so many different ways that I was very interested to see where this course would take it.
I really liked that throughout the course all the different modules worked on the same unit. The best part is the unit is actually one I can use in the classroom for this coming school year. I was able to layout the entire unit and really get a good sense about what I can do online, what I can do face to face and discussions and activities I can use to support my students learning. I am really excited to see if what I developed and made throughout this class will work for my students.
For me this is probably the first of many steps in the direction of some major eLearning. My district is going 1:1 with Chromebooks this coming school year so I think there will be many opportunities for eLearning throughout this next school year. I hope to continue to build on my knowledge of eLearning and build on what I can do with my students now that they will have Chromebooks everyday.

Great Job! I really liked how you mentioned how great it was that what we did for this class we could really use in our own classrooms! That was by far my favorite part of the course! Knowing that I was creating a meaningful and engaging unit that I was going to actually use with my students made everything I was learning more powerful. As I was working on the unit plan, I was constantly thinking how great it was that I was able to work on something that I would get to use! I thought about all of the professional development courses or meetings that I have attended over the years. Even though the knowledge gained from those PD courses is usually good information to have, it often times is not feasible to implement in my classroom or at my grade level. That was not the case with this course, and for that I am thankful!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed that each module built upon what we created. I will actually be able to use what we made for future classes! It can be difficult to find time during the school year to completely change and update a unit to make it more engaging and tech centered. However, this gave us a great opportunity! Good luck as you move 1:1 next year!!
ReplyDeleteAlex, the 2nd paragraph you wrote could have been written by me. I agree 100%. I am so excited that we have both created things we can use in our classroom and reflect on as the year goes by together. This year will be hard, a lot of work, and different that anything we've ever done before, but I wouldn't want to go through it with any one else!
